The Palmetto Chapter of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association’s goal is to provide engaging opportunities for local Hokies to build and strengthen their connection to the mission of Virginia Tech while providing scholarship opportunities to future Palmetto Hokies. We provide opportunities to associate and network with area alumni and friends who reside in the upstate region of South Carolina and western North Carolina.

I work at General Electric in Greenville, SC where I lead the Industrialization team for new gas turbine designs. Outside of work I have a wife and a 2 year old son. I also enjoy swimming, running, and working out in my spare time.

Originally from Fredericksburg, VA I graduated from Virginia Tech in 2013 with a BSME degree from the College of Engineering. I have been a member of the Palmetto chapter board since I moved to the area in 2014 and have been the chapter president since 2015. Ut Prosim and Go Hokies!
Donald Barbour

Lifelong Hokie who graduated VT in 2008 with his Master's Degree. After 14 years in education in the Roanoke/Salem area, Donald and his wife, Nicole (also a Hokie alum) moved down to Simpsonville, SC with their two children in 2014. Donald is now a Realtor with Keller Williams Greenville Upstate.
